From birth to death, everybody has several life changes that have tax consequences which you should be aware of.  Tell your tax professional if any of the following have occurred during the last year.

1.      Have you been married or divorced?

2.      Have you had children?

3.      Has a spouse or dependent died?

4.      Have any family members attended college?

5.      Was a home purchased?

6.      Was an investment property purchased, such as rental property?

7.      Was money deposited into an IRA?

8.      Was property or cash inherited?

This is not by any means an exhaustive list, but it gives you an idea of how to be thinking when you go into that appointment with your tax professional.
